Chrome
- Open this page in Chrome.

- Tap Install. Y4DL appears on your home screen and in your app drawer.

- Tap Install now above, or open the menu ≡ and choose “Add page to” → “Home screen”.
Firefox
- Open the menu ⋮ and tap “Install”.
After installing, tap Share under any YouTube video and choose Y4DL: the video opens ready to download.
Safari
- Open this page in Safari (on iOS 16.4 or later, Chrome and Edge work too).
- Tap the Share button – at the bottom of the screen on iPhone, at the top on iPad.
- Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen”.
- Tap Add. The Y4DL icon appears on your home screen.
Apple doesn't allow websites to show an install button, so on iPhone and iPad it takes four taps instead of one.
Chrome / Edge
- Open this page in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- Click Install now above, or the install icon at the right end of the address bar.
- Click Install. Y4DL opens in its own window and is added to the Start menu – right-click it in the taskbar to pin it.
Firefox
- Firefox for computers can't install web apps. Open this page in Edge (already on your PC) or Chrome.

- Open this page in Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

- Click Install. Y4DL opens in its own window and appears in Launchpad and the Applications folder.

- Click Add. Y4DL appears in the Dock and opens in its own window.

- Click Install. Y4DL gets its own window and appears in your applications menu.

Is it safe?
The Y4DL app is a progressive web app (PWA): your browser installs the website itself, in its own window. There is no APK, no file to run and no extra permissions – it can’t read your files, contacts or messages. That’s why it doesn’t come from Google Play or the App Store, and why it installs in seconds.
How to remove it
- Android: long-press the icon and choose Uninstall.
- iPhone and iPad: long-press the icon and choose Remove App → Delete from Home Screen.
- Windows, Mac, Linux: open the app, click the ⋮ menu in its title bar and choose Uninstall.
