A YouTube downloader that starts the file immediately
Most online downloaders make you wait while a server converts the whole video before you get anything. Y4DL streams the file to you as it is prepared, so your download begins a moment after you click. Single-file formats such as 360p video and the original audio track even show their exact size and can be resumed if your connection drops.

When you paste a link, Y4DL reads the formats available for that video and lists them with an estimated file size, so you can choose before downloading anything.

HD videos are stored by YouTube as separate picture and sound tracks. Y4DL joins them on the fly without re-encoding, so you get the original quality in a single MP4 file.
Supported links
You can paste regular video links (youtube.com/watch?v=…), short links (youtu.be/…), Shorts, embedded video links and links copied from the YouTube app’s Share button. Playlists, streams that are still live, private videos and members-only videos can’t be downloaded. Live streams that have ended work like any other video.
